Job Description

BPY is a diversified global real estate company that owns, operates and develops one of the largest portfolios of office, retail, multifamily, industrial, hospitality, triple net lease and self-storage assets.

The Manager, Finance will be a member of the Brookfield Property Partners (BPY) Corporate team, focusing on maintaining the corporate books and records for over 200 legal entities.

The role would support the management of Brookfield Property Partners within the business. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of multi-entity organization structures, exposure to consolidated financial statements and strong analytical skills. Candidate must be self-driven and possess a willingness to be hands-on and dive into the detail. They should have excellent attention to detail, be able to multi-task well and adapt to changes in deadlines and work well under pressure. The candidate should have excellent communication and listening skills with a proven ability to partner across multiple business functions and regions. Additionally, this individual should also be a strong team player and work well in a fast-paced changing environment.

Key Job Functions

  • Lead the monthly financial close cycles, by reviewing daily journal entries, leading close process and period end accruals
  • Be a key contributor and reviewer with quarterly reporting requirements
  • Review the work of junior team members and provide mentorship to them
  • Collaborate regularly with and respond to the business and finance inquiries from other Brookfield business groups and departments
  • Continuously look for efficiency in our processes, tools and reports and make suggestions to implement these into our framework
  • Assist with reviewing and analyzing legal entity financial results as well as assist with forecasting
  • Prepare trial balances and/or other legal entity financial information based on tax and regulatory agency requests

Qualifications

  • Four to six (4-6) years of progressive work experience in an accounting or auditing function
  • Experience with public company reporting requirements under IFRS
  • Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with managing direct reports, and the willingness to always support the team
  • Highly organized and able to work in a dynamic, complex and fast-paced environment, as well as adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and OneStream would be an asset

Education Required

  • CA or CPA designated
