What is the opportunity?

Capital Markets Technology is seeking a strong software engineer to work on our trading and execution infrastructure for the Global Equity (GE), utilizing C++, high efficiency, high performance data structures.

What will you do?

  • Work as a member of a global team to build Technology solutions used across the Equity and Equity Derivatives trading desks.
  • Design and implement trading services such as market data feed handler, order management, messaging layer, security reference data systems, position keeping systems, and services for user interfaces (C++, Python)
  • Maintain, enhance, and refactor the existing trading and execution systems and services.
  • Work with quants, traders, and other stake holders to design, implement and test the services.
  • Develop the scripts and automate DevOps/SDLC (continuous integration pipeline, code quality tools, release methodologies)

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience building highly performant, low-latency systems on Linux platform.
  • Solid knowledge and skills in C++ programming. Must have ability to use the right construct for the problem and ability to determine the appropriate C++ construct when building code. Develop maintainable software.
  • Proficiency with Linux platform.
  • Basic script, such as Python and database query coding is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills ability to work in fast-paced environments delivering quality solutions.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of the equity and equity derivatives, exchange microstructures, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience of the financial data analysis, such as static reference data, corp actions, market data, pricing, etc.
  • Knowledge of Database (SQL, Indexing, clustering, performance)
  • Experience in one or more of other primary programming languages, such as Java, C#, etc.
  • Experience with DevOps (Jenkins, etc.)
  • Experience with Web Services, such as Flask, React JS, etc.

In this role, you will communicate frequently with head office staff in Toronto.
