Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
- Understand and analyze data to support Legal Department in improving processes, helping with knowledge management and information governance.
- Performs data analysis and troubleshooting on data-related issues reported by production support and other teams.
- Develops solutions and recommendations for improving data integrity issues.
- Analyzes data issues and works with development teams for problem resolutions.
- Identifies problematic areas and conducts research to determine the best course of action to correct the data, identify, analyze and interpret trends and patterns in complex datasets.
- Determines and analyzes line of business requirements, use system data, and provide input needed by various departments and senior management to produce business reports.
- Works with business analysts and project teams to provide accurate documentation of data related project and support deliverables. And with source system business analysts to understand system nuances and resolve data issues. Takes ownership of issues through resolution including close coordination between business analysts.
- Create legal reporting work product requested by Legal Department, Lines of Business, regulators, and functional areas, including for purposes of meeting regulatory, financial and other needs or requirements.
- Provide support to the Legal Department Matter Management Application and manage the databases related to legal matters and financial information.
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, computer science or business-related field, four years of experience in a role of data analysis, statistical analysis, data transformation, data reconciliation and/or sophisticated data presentation or equivalent education and related training or experience
- Familiar with ETL Development using standard tools
- Working knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouse concepts and experience applying that understanding to query data in a Very Large Database (VLDB) environment
- Familiarity in using a query analysis tool

- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, including management.
- Creative problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner seeking input of others as needed.
- Team-oriented mentality with a talent for managing or fitting into a project team.
- An educational focus on business or finance, and experience in the financial services industry.
- Experience working in a law firm, corporate legal department, and/or financial services company.
- Ability to skillfully develop periodic and ad hoc reports, dashboards and scorecards related to legal metrics.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Experience with financial reporting systems
- Experience with data base management, data analytics, creation of reporting tools for Legal Department, and systems support.
- Comfortable working with senior leaders and with external vendors.
- Experience and/or expert skills using systems/applications such as Passport, NetDocs, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Cognos, Tableau, Microsoft Suite.
- Self-starter who can manage work and assignments autonomously.
