About this role

  • Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software DevOps Engineer to lead automation initiatives in a collaborative agile team environment and ensure quality service delivery to the Wells Fargo networking teams.
  • Secure Network Transformation and Innovation (SNTI) is responsible for network innovation, strategy development, driving key technologies and initiatives, site reliability and network lab management. This position is open with the SNTI automation team who is responsible for providing automation solutions for network testing and system reliability engineering operations.
  • The Automation team works collaboratively with lab infrastructure, site reliability and networking tower teams to automate network device configurations, device certification for upgrades or patch fixes and is also responsible for automating redundant Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) operations like device software and configuration management, compliance testing and reporting.

In this role, you will

  • In this role, you will be responsible for creating, testing, and maintaining automation solutions, reducing the need for manual tasks, producing detailed status / health reporting metrics that reflect the operational health of our network and devices. Primary technology used in by this team include Python, Ansible, Perl, HPNA, MongoDB and React.   • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of Infrastructure as Code development, knowledge of Dev-ops principles and thrive to evaluate and learn new technologies that are necessary to accomplish the goals. They should be comfortable in hands-on development and designing the automation solutions.
  • Work with leaders, product owner and architects to understand business problems and design solutions using critical thinking and technical skills.
  • Uses technical experience and judgment to make high level decisions to determine scripting language needed. Consistently applies continuous improvement opportunities and lessons learned to current decisions.
  • Lead the solution development and take complete ownership from conception till product delivery and maintenance.
  • Act as a key participant in designing, developing, testing, debugging and documenting solutions.
  • Hands on experience is must in software development, standardization, and code management.
  • Advance knowledge of Dev-ops principles, Infrastructure as Code principles, security architecture, source control, CI/CD, micro services, containerization. Cloud concepts and skills are nice to have.
  • Responsible for network automation using Python, Ansible, HPNA, Perl scripting.
  • Applies optimal testing and validation techniques. Researches and troubleshoots defects to make necessary coding adjustments.
  • Participates in architecture and code reviews. Analyze complex, large-scale business objectives and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
  • Leverage Agile methods to deliver solutions.
  • Passion for professional and technical growth that can show itself through continuous learning, training and certification.
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
  • Stays abreast of emerging market and industry opportunities in the tools space. Provides feedback and review regarding these opportunities to management.
  • May serve as a work leader, in a non-supervisory leadership position, having job-related responsibilities to lead project assignments in a broad or specialty area.
  • You will be part of the team both physical and virtual, primarily based in Westlake,TX, Minneapolis, MN, Charlotte, NC as well as Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Required Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification in software development.
  • Experience 6+ years' experience with Software development.
  • Experience 2+ years of experience with Dev-Ops engineering, scripting and automation experience
  • Experience 2+ years modern development using micro services, containerization.
  • Experience in working Agile environment.
  • or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in cloud migration will be nice to have.
