Position Summary

The ITAM Data Quality group is a part of Enterprise Architecture in IT, which is responsible for ensuring Northern Trust's IT Asset Management (ITAM) data is accurate, complete and consistent, allowing Northern Trust to make informed decisions that drive business success. The ITAM Data Quality Engineer is responsible for working closely with key ITAM stakeholders, executive leaders and ITAM Data Quality Architect to build, maintain and enhance the data quality tooling and analytics solutions used to identify and assess ITAM data quality gaps.

The ideal candidate would have a combination of 3 things

Deep understanding of data architecture, data engineering, data analysis/quality, reporting, and a basic understanding of data science techniques and workflows A skilled data / software engineer with experience creating data products supporting analytic solutions A quick learner who possesses strong problem-solving skills and can work as part of a technical, cross-functional analytics team to solve complex data problems and deliver the insights

The candidate will need to be self-motivated with strong problem-solving and learning skill who is enthusiastic with a drive to help enable real change across IT through data.

Major Duties

Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture pipelines Solve complex data problems to deliver insights that helps our business to achieve their goals Create data products for team members and ITAM stakeholders to improve their productivity and proactively identify ITAM data quality issues Build and maintain software integrations across various data quality tooling and ITAM data sets Engage with business stakeholders to under their processes around ITAM data and translate those processes into data quality rules within existing tooling Foster a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions Lead the evaluation, implementation, and deployment of emerging tools and processes for analytic data engineering

Experience

Requires a college or university degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or MIS and/or relevant proven work experience. Minimum 2-3 years experience in data engineering or architecture role Expertise in SQL and data analysis and experience with Python (Pandas, PySpark) Experience working with APIs, distributed computing tools (PySpark), and cloud computing services (Azure preferred) Conceptual knowledge of data and analytics, such as dimensional modeling, ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data. Experience with IT asset management systems - ServiceNow, Flexera, etc Experience with data quality tooling such as Collibra Experience with data visualization tooling (PowerBI etc..), data delivery platforms (Incorta, Azure Analysis Services, etc..) and/or database scripting tooling (SQL etc)
