Lead Software Engineer

Design, code, test, debug, and document projects and programs. Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives. Evaluate highly complex business problems and provide subject matter knowledge proficiency for technology initiatives. Support and maintain the historical IRT WySTAR application. Lead a team of Engineers, taking responsibility for the quality and timeliness of their deliverables. Drive projects and teams, taking responsibility for the quality and timeliness of deliverables and serve as a peer mentor. Implement standards and best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions using engineering disciplines. Define and drive detailed research on business and technology requests to develop efficient and accurate functional requirements. Drive project or systems documentation, and monitor and manage project schedules and deliverables. Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days a week. Position must appear in person to the location listed as the work address.

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related technical field plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or in a related position involving software engineering experience.

Required Qualifications

Specific skills required

  • 5 years of Java experience
  • 5 years of Object Oriented Design (OOD)/Object Oriented Programming (OOP) experience design patterns and their application
  • 5 years of J2EE experience
  • 3 years of JSP (JavaServer Pages) experience
  • 3 years of JavaScript Frameworks experience (jQuery or Angular JS)
  • 3 years of experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • 3 years of experience writing relational database queries for stored procedures, query optimization and performance tuning including SQL Server and Oracle
  • 3 years of SQL experience
  • Experience with Angular or React and
  • Experience with retirement and 401(k) plan products.
