Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Operational Risk Officer...
As a member of Independent Risk Management (IRM) aligned, the employee will involve extensive engagement with partner and stakeholder groups including front line teams, Independent Risk Management, Operational Risk Business Oversight, governance bodies, and internal audit, to ensure end-to-end coverage.
This senior position will drive and enhance the current reporting and monitoring activities of DMRO by directing, developing, and mentoring junior onshore and offshore team members expanding capabilities in risk reporting, analytics, and insight.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop clear risk analysis and IRM points of view of data management risk (and other risks) inherent in the work to implement and execute the data initiatives, the design effectiveness of controls and a clear view of residual risk.
- Perform IRM oversight of identified areas of high priority data management risk.
- Identify gaps, issues, concerns and/or identify challenges as warranted.
- Drive and contribute to the production of results, findings and reports of independent oversight and effectively deliver to leadership.
- Participate with senior and executive leadership, to provide visibility to data risk management and remediation activities and provide a holistic profile of the firm's progress.
- Perform analysis to generate actionable insights (KRIs, Data Defects, Data Controls and Data Management Procedures)
- Generate reporting visuals and/or commentary (KRIs, Data Defects, Data Controls and Data Management Procedures)
- Extract and process data from multiple systems to prepare data for analysis & reporting (Issues, RCSA, KRIs, Data Defects, Data Controls, and Procedure implementation)
- Perform in depth analysis and provide insights of RCSA results for Data Management Risk to drive action by Front Line risk owners and Independent Risk Management partners.
- Develop and provide reporting for leader updates and awareness of key RCSA themes. Provide lessons learned, topics addressed, etc. from RCSA execution.

Required Qualifications
years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, risk, compliance or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk).

- Expert knowledge of RCSA, KRIs and other risk management principles
- Subject matter expertise on data management and data governance
- Leadership/transformational experience to drive change across diverse functions including others outside of the direct line.
- Strategic perspective, with a proven ability to execute and deliver results.
- Demonstrated capabilities to develop effective relationships at senior and executive levels across different stakeholder groups.
- Significant Business analysis and analytics experience
- Ability to analyze data to and generate insights to tell the story behind the data.
- Experience sourcing data from multiple sources
- Preparing and delivering complex data in a way that is concise and understandable.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas/issues into well-defined plans/solutions with a track-record for delivering results.
- Effective communicator, both orally and in writing, able to ask well-crafted questions and present ideas in a clear and compelling manner, good listener who engenders creative thinking and teamwork.
- An ability to develop and articulate sound proposals to key stakeholders, and an ability to influence and drive timely decision making.
- Ethical integrity and proven ability to serve as a role model by reinforcing and demonstrating to your employees the core values and behavioral expectations of the organization.
- Advanced Excel, Power Query/BI, MS Access/SQL, Tableau, PowerPoint, basic SharePoint
- Attention to detail, organization and the ability to prioritize multiple competing deliverables to meet deadlines.
- Problem solving, root cause analysis, monitoring data management issue or similar experience in continuous improvement of processes, controls, data management solutions.
