Job Summary
As part of the Data Architecture team, individual has primary responsibility for Enterprise Data Architecture. Working on enterprise class data initiatives, the Lead Architect will design databases which are flexible, performant and meet enterprise and industry standards. Collaborates with Solution Architects to implement and govern Enterprise Data Architecture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Architects Cloud Data Solutions.Evaluates cloud applications and services.Implements data models and database designs and enables applications with efficient back end access and processing.Resolves database performance, capacity, replication, and other distributed data issues.Installs and configures database management software(DBMS) and applicable service packs and/or patches.Develops and implements database maintenance plans, including performing integrity checks.Updating statistics and monitoring security and hardware resource utilization.Establishes regular backups of databases and transaction logs.Managers, logins and user accounts, including assigning database object permissions and ancillary privileges.Designs and implements jobs for data transfer and monitors performance and impact on operations.Participates in data modeling, database logical, and physical design.Participates in application development processes and code reviews of database projects.Analyzes long term database performance trends to optimize database and application performance.Configures databases to work with middleware, web servers, servers, and online analytical processing (OLAP)tools.Supports and optimizes replication.Performs acceptance testing on database and replication services.
Qualifications
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and seven (7) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Advanced knowledge of the followingFinancial services experience.Experience with the following products and options. Oracle RDBMS, AWS, Redshift Replication solutions. (Oracle DataGuard, Oracle, GoldenGate, and AWS DMS), Oracle Exadata, Oracle Multitenant architecture, AWS Security.Experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development and tuning.Cloud database services.Oracle performance tuning using AWS&ASH.Scripting and automation using shell scripting and Python.Cloud infrastructure.Capacity planning and cloud cost optimization.Concepts, Principles, and Practices of Database Administration and Management.Cloud and on-premise Security systems, Procedures, and techniques.Data integrity methods and techniques.Concepts, practices, and procedures used in the financial services industry.Code reviews of database objects.
