Join Macquarie's Commodities and Global Markets group, as a key part of the legal team in Japan. What role will you play?

Reporting to the Head of Commodities and Global Markets Legal in Asia, you will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating transaction documentation across a broad range of businesses. You will liaise with the business team, external lawyers and internal approvers and assist in structuring and execution of transactions. A key part of your role will involve working with our local compliance team to ensure the business' participation in transactions complies with applicable laws, rules and policies and commitment to regulators.

What you offer

  • At least 7-15 years post-qualified experience in derivatives and/or debt capital markets documentation, gained from a law firm, financial institution, or trading house
  • Strong experience in derivatives and associated documentations including ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA and JSDA (both Japanese law and Japanese language)
  • Knowledge in equity financing documentation (warrants, convertible bonds, and straight bonds) including Japanese laws relating to areas such as share disclosure laws and material non-public information
  • Experience in commodity markets, particularly in power, and familiarity with derivatives and general finance documentation would be highly desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in both Japanese and English.
