This position is in Global Application Development based in Eastern Massachusetts. The Java Application Developer role is a hands-on software development position responsible for writing code primarily in JAVA and Oracle to support end users in a global enterprise application. As a Software Development Lead you will
- Ensure that code is configured properly in all development lifecycle environments (Development/SQA/ Production)
- Be responsible for all change management tasks and audit requirements to ensure smooth deployments of code into production (Including but not limited to, deployment plans, code reviews, Service Now tickets)
- Design, develop and test all code developed in applicable development and/or test environments including completion of appropriate SDLC/Agile/DPF audit documentation.
- Provide L4 production support to resolve production issues escalated by prod support team.
These skills will help you succeed in this role
- Experience with development for JAVA / J2EE based application components including frameworks, JavaBeans, HTML and JSP
- Experience with SQL PL/SQL and SQL Script
- programming.
- Ability to build linux shell scripts
- Competency in Oracle to work with SQL and develop Stored Procedures, Packages and Functions. Understanding of good RDBMS practices.
- Expertise with code repositories and code management (Git, SVN, etc.)
- Experience with MQ
- Cloud based development experience
- Experience with Agile a plus
- Strong Financial Services experience as a developer a plus
- Ability to work with remote teammates.
- Strong communication skills, self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly responsible.
- Strong collaboration skills, working with multiple teams in various locations across the globe.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent
- The candidate must have 6+ years of experience in IT or relevant industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
