Job Summary

The IT Training Specialist helps administer the training programs for staff in the Technology department. They assess the training needs of various IT roles, including information security, cloud, infrastructure, and IT operations. Based on individuals and teams needs, they leverage multiple training delivery methods. The IT Training Specialist also monitors and evaluates the training programs impact on the IT staffs performance and skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training programs for technology staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate and schedule technology training sessions and track participation and completion of training.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging and up-to-date training materials.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness, ensure adherence to financial regulations and security standards, and gather feedback for improvement.
  • Manage training logistics, including venue coordination and resource allocation.
  • Stay informed about technology trends, cybersecurity measures, and industry-specific trends to enhance training content.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual technology training sessions for professionals, fostering a positive and interactive learning environment.
  • Strive to understand the fundamentals of financial services concepts, including financial advisement and investments, banking, and the capital markets, and tailor training to audiences accordingly.
  • Track and report on technology training metrics to assess program impact, compliance, and security considerations.
  • Maintain awareness of professional and technical certifications of organization members.
  • Assist in maintenance and renewals of professional and technical certifications of organization members as necessary.
  • Assist in onboarding new employees by providing orientation and training sessions.

Qualifications

  • Experience in coordinating technology training programs, preferably in the financial services sector.
  • Knowledge and awareness of various enterprise technologies, tools, methodologies, and frameworks. These may be IT or financial services-specific solutions, cybersecurity concepts and tools, agile methodologies (SAFe preferred), and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of educating adult learners and the ability to adapt technology training content for diverse learning styles and skill levels.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and other technology training tools.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality technology training experiences in a financial context.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required Bachelors degree in a relevant field a masters degree or appropriate technology, finance, and SAFe certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum Required 5+ years of experience managing or coordinating a technical training program.

Licenses & Credentials

  • Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) and SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certifications are preferred.

Systems & Technology

  • Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Moodle, Blackboard, or Canvas.
  • Web conferencing tools, such as Zoom, Webex, or Teams.
  • Screen recording and video editing software like Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, or Loom.
  • Instructional design and e-learning authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or Lectora.
  • Cloud platforms and services include AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
