Job Summary

The Systems Engineer II-Core Systems is responsible for the firms servers and infrastructure by ensuring our systems are operational. The Systems Engineer II is responsible for assessing systems, determining problems, providing solutions to issues that arise, designing systems, upgrading systems, maintaining systems, and brainstorming possible improvements that can be made to a system in the future.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creating control features to ensure systems effectively meet the organizations quality standards.
  • Engaging in quality control procedures to ensure that systems are efficient and operational.
  • Ensuring that an organization operates at maximum efficiency, from manufacturing to distribution.
  • Leads projects under minimal supervision.
  • Speaking to and collaborating with various people, such as vendors, management, IT staff, and other Stifel associates during the creation and maintenance of a system.

Qualifications

  • Develop solutions to problems, as well as manage multiple issues at the same time.
  • IBM Server Experience with RPG or RPGLE.
  • Experience with Document Imaging.
  • Worked with PTF, Data Queue, and Enterprise Job Schedulers.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning when troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Ability to think outside the box imagine innovative, effective solutions and designs.
  • Understanding and appropriately responding to feedback.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience required
  • 2+ years experience in System Administration

Systems & Technology

  • IBM Server experience with RPG or RPGLE
  • Previous experience with PTF, Data Queue, and enterprise job schedulers
