Investment Banking Associates are an integral part of the Investment Banking team. This position is for a 1st or 2nd Year Associate role within Equity Capital Markets. They are directly involved in the design, origination, structuring and execution of investment banking products and services for existing and prospective clients. Associates participate in client meetings, due diligence visits and other client interactions during which they gain exposure to key executives and senior bankers. The Associate provides these services as part of a team consisting of Analysts, Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managing Directors.

In this role, you will

  • Participate in analyzing companies and client investments
  • Make recommendations to clients on investments
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within Investment Banking Program
  • Review and analyze market data, valuation analyses, models, and presentations that require research, evaluation, selection of alternatives, and exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables
  • Present recommendations for resolving business challenges and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal and external customers

This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

Required Qualifications, US

  • 2+ years of Investment Banking Program experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Successfully completed FINRA Series 63 (or 66) exams to qualify for immediate registration (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • Successfully completed FINRA Series 79 exam to qualify for immediate registration (or FINRA recognized equivalents)

  • 2+ years of Equity Capital Markets/Investment Banking Experience
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bachelors Degree with academic distinction and coursework in financial accounting and corporate finance.
  • Willingness to work long hours in a demanding, highly focused collaborative and fast paced team environment with a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results.

Additional Compensation Details

  • Base salary for a 1st Year is $175K and a 2nd Year is $200K
  • May be considered for an annual discretionary bonus
