This is an exciting opportunity to join New York Life's Foundational Business Operations & Shared Services (FBOSS) Intelligent Automation/Process Excellence/Cost Management team. This team was recently formed to play a pivotal role in assisting how we modernize our foundational business services.
This role requires a consultative approach and an execution-focused mindset as it partners with the business to provide automation and process excellence tools and strategies to help drive large scale transformations while keeping a strong focus on our customer and employee first culture. You will have the opportunity to pioneer new technological solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead initiatives that will revolutionize how we operate. We will challenge conventional thinking, embrace emerging technologies, and cultivate a culture of continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Work with leadership to formulate business objectives and goals.
- Partners with functional groups within the organization to clarify and document functional and non-functional business requirements, use cases, business rules.
- Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress against goals and objectives and prepare regular reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with value streams on automation and process excellence opportunities, proposing solutions that will enable stakeholders to identify, prioritize and improve/automate their current processes to be more efficient.
- Drive the execution of the prioritized opportunities including proactively managing changes in project scope, identifying issues and devising contingency plans.
- Ensure opportunities are delivered within cost estimates.
- Work with Change Management team to facilitate organization but-in and adoption of automation/process excellence initiatives.
- Builds partnerships with the business and technical representatives to create a team atmosphere while in problem solving activities.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices.
- Identify common issues, solutions and best practices across the enterprise to drive maximum business impact and ROI. Prepare business cases, CBAs and proposals for improvement opportunities.
- Foster collaboration and alignment across different departments and functions within the organization. Individual will work closely with other senior leaders to ensure seamless coordination and integration of improvement activities, promoting a unified approach to achieving strategic goals.
- Perform assessments through fact-finding and data analysis, develop solutions, and make decisions in complex situations.
- Must possess excellent staff work skills (presentations, analysis, points of view, written skills, etc.)
- Maintain a proficient understanding of leading Intelligent Process Automation tools (AI, RPA, etc.). Influence a culture of automation first mindset across the enterprise.
- Create PowerPoint decks for Senior Leadership as needed.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to convey concepts and findings clearly to diverse audiences
- Experience operating within a Center of Excellence (CoE)
- Automation/Continuous Improvement background preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proficient in PowerPoint
- Highly organized
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
- Strong commitment to customer satisfaction
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to gain trust, secure buy-in and influence change at all levels
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in relevant field, or commensurate work experience, including 3-5 years in cross-functional capacity.
- Demonstrated growth mindset, embracing challenges with perseverance and a strong desire to learn.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to drive projects forward and adapt.
- Strong communicator, with the ability to influence in collaborative settings without direct authority.
- Excellent PowerPoint and written communication skills.
