As a Indirect Tax professional in our Corporate Sector, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm

Indirect Tax Hub Team is part of the Tax Team which supports the Businesses on tax-related issues, protects the Firm from tax-related reputational risk and ensures all Tax returns are filed in a timely and accurate manner. This Team supports multiple geographies (India, UK, Germany, Australia, South Africa, Netherlands etc) with their Tax compliance and Tax technology needs. You will assist with the compliance process including preparing the documents/working papers, following set control procedures and frequently communicating with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will also learn about the different businesses, build work papers, analyse complex data and detect and resolve problemsJob Responsibilities

  • Run multiple reports, analyse and compile data to file JP Morgan's indirect tax returns.
  • Calculate tax, reconciliation of data, financial accounting entries, monitoring of tax positions at a transaction level, preparation of returns and the filing of returns.
  • Ensure meeting tight deadlines on a monthly basis. Assist with the development of new processes and ensure they are clearly documented.
  • Ensure issues are raised / escalated and driven through to resolution. Ensure risks & dependencies are highlighted, with mitigation options presented.
  • Support adhoc queries from Local and Global Tax Teams involving running data reports, undertaking data analysis and interpretation in a meaningful manner. Support JP Morgan's IT infrastructure in testing new systems releases.
  • Run data analytical reports to identify inconsistencies with data and support IT module builds.
  • Work with Technology and Tax Teams to ensure the smooth implementation of the firm's new software, including UAT, which will compliment manual compliance activities. Assist Local Management with other team initiatives to simplify processes

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Graduate with minimum 4 years of experience in India GST compliance and Tax Accounting. CA/MBA preferred, though not mandatory
  • Good understanding of any country's VAT/GST Law. Ability to work with, and use, large amounts of data.
  • Background in financial services operations is an added plus. Good analytical skills, a problem solver, logical thinker with strong attention to detail.

  • Team player with ability work with colleagues in a collaborative manner, as well as being able to proactively progress multiple tasks independently.
  • Knowledge of automation tools (Alteryx/Tableau) or experience with Transformation projects is an added plus
