Who we are looking for

The Head of Digital Solutions within State Street's Product Division is a strategic and creative thought leader with a deep understanding of digital asset technology and extensive institutional experience. The Head of Digital Solutions will be responsible for driving the execution of the enterprise strategy for State Street Digital. This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary executive looking to take a leadership role in building the future digital infrastructure of financial markets.

This role will report directly into the Chief Product Officer, and will work closely with partners in the Investment Servicing leadership team (product, technology, global delivery and chief commercial office) to execute effectively. In addition, they will be engaged with State Street's clients, partners and vendors, from conception of new products to delivery of services.

This role requires knowledge of State Street's business operations particularly in the areas of custody, accounting, transfer agency, payments and data services - as well as a broad understanding of next generation technologies, including distributed ledger technologies (Blockchain), tokenization services, wallet technology, cryptocurrencies, and AI. This role also requires a strong background in digital transformation and business change management to help grow nascent businesses.

What you will be responsible for

As Head of Digital Solutions you will

  • Drive execution of the overall strategy for State Street Digital
  • Contribute to the enterprise strategy representing Digital Solutions as a thought partner
  • Review and implement an effective product management governance framework for Digital ensuring appropriate planning, coordination, and product effectiveness assessments
  • Establish a commercial model for Tokenization as a Service and other subsequent digital products
  • Establish key performance metrics for evaluating effectiveness against objectives
  • Establish training forums to ensure understanding of Digital go-to-market strategy and product portfolio across State Street
  • Create and/or participate in forums internally and externally with clients and industry participants to deliver thought leadership and encourage idea sharing and innovation, including the sharing of best practices
  • Oversee a team of Digital specialists to develop sustainable, scalable operational solutions and best-in-class client service delivery models
  • Oversee the negotiation, onboarding and management of the full life-cycle of relationships with third parties
  • Engage effectively with business partners within the Product organization and outside of Product to ensure risks and controls in new models are understood and appropriately managed, and that the business operates in compliance with jurisdictional regulatory requirements.
  • Constructively challenge the status quo collaborate with the Head of Compliance, Head of Risk, Legal and senior members of the Investment Services organization to help accelerate product development cycles
  • Produce regular progress updates and develop a risk metric framework to ensure full transparency and clarity of deliverables

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 15-20+ years in financial services, either in front office, capital markets, trading, operations and/or client service
  • Proven change management abilities delivering successful outcomes on transformation initiatives
  • Significant understanding of relevant enterprise financial technology solutions
  • Experience in developing, implementing and going to market with Digital products and services (Distributed Ledger Technology (blockchain), smart contracts, tokenization, wallet technologies, cryptocurrencies)
  • Proven track record in driving innovative products from ideation through design and development (preferably within large, complex organizations), inclusive of commercial considerations
  • Experience working with asset management, asset owner, insurance company clients
  • Track record in the understanding of governance processes to drive implementation of service or tech changes
  • Excellent presentation, communications, collaboration and
  • influencing
  • Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Substantial experience of building and managing globally distributed teams
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
