The Head Client Group Core Japan will head up the Retail, Wholesale, Institutional, AXA (off balance) Sales teams, Client Service and Client Marketing teams for the CORE platform which include Fixed Income, Equities and Multi Asset products.
Strategy
- Build and execute the strategic plan for all client segments
- Achieve planned growth of assets under management and achieve financial targets for AXA IM Japan, directly contributing to the sales effort.
- Contribute actively and positively to the Core Client Group Management team and to collegiate decision-making, embracing the notion of collective responsibility and convincingly communicating senior team decisions.
- Clearly and consistently communicate direction, strategy and company values.
Management
- Recruit, allocate and manage your teams effectively by taking account of individuals' strengths and development needs. Ensure succession plans and talent pipeline are actively managed.
- As a people manager, provide shared direction, purpose and motivation, and generate enthusiasm, commitment and motivation by setting an appropriate example. Encourage synergy and foster exchange between departments, companies and other AXA Group entities.
- Ensure efficient, fluid and constructive interaction / collaboration in-between the local and transversal teams within the Core Investment teams, Core Client Group and Alts Client Group.
Business Lines
- Member of the Japanese AXA IM Executive Committee & Core Client Group Management Committee (the role may also have further legal entity responsibilities such as directorships and/or regulatory roles).
- Contribute actively to the decision-taking on new product launches, sales development and raising capital. Enhance the external perception of AXA IM in Japan and promote the brand image' through active PR
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the AXA group for off balance business working with the Unit Linked team
- Deliver a high level of service to both internal and external clients, promoting an open, co-operative client-focused culture within AXA IM Japan.
- Coordinate with regional partners across all business units within AXA IM, such as Alts, Select and Prime
Your Profile
Experience
- Proven track record in sales and winning new business in Japan.
- Strong proven people management track record.
- Significant experience in the asset management industry, predominantly within Japan.
Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the strategic and tactical issues pertaining to product distribution within the asset management industry in the region.
- He/she should have a detailed knowledge of the client segments
- Strong organisational skills and demonstrable investment knowledge and insight.

- Personal qualities will include outstanding client-facing skills, the ability to build swift rapport with a variety of audiences, and a collegiate, consultative approach. They will also bring a commercial pragmatism and not least an abundance of energy and enthusiasm for their work.
