Who we are looking for

The Planning & Control team sits within the central COO division driving standards by which investment decisions are made and governed across the various product areas within Global Technology Services (GTS). The key priority for the group is to ensure investment decisions are prioritized and aligned to strategic objectives, whilst maintaining standardization and control.

The Portfolio Financials lead will own the team who govern all the financial processes to effectively manage our Gross Labor and Deferral spend across GTS.

Responsibilities

  • Define the governance and standard processes for management of portfolio financials within the Clarity toolset
  • Co-ordination of the financial planning and forecasting activities across all business units within GTS
  • Ownership of investment guardrails and on-going maintenance via the change control process
  • Delivery of performance analytics to provide transparency into progress, monitor trends and support key decision making on the portfolio investments
  • Development and monitoring of hygiene and control to monitor adherence to standards and drive remediation of any issues
  • Key lead on cost deferral process of investments, ensuring activities are in line with Group Accounting policy whilst driving process simplification for technology project managers
  • Ownership of the maintenance and refresh Labor rates within Clarity PPM tool
  • Driving communication and engagement across all stakeholder parties within PMO, Finance, Strategy, Product, Vendor management as it relates to the portfolio of technology investments

  • Experience with IT portfolio management tools (ie. Clarity or other PPM solutions)
  • Strong understanding of the SOP-98 policy on deferrals
  • Experience with managing stakeholders in a matrixed organization
  • Detailed orientated and able to multi task in a fast paced environment with frequently changing
  • Ability to drive transformation within the Finance function

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Broad Finance leadership experience with 10+ years of experience.
  • Forward thinking, innovative leader who has experience working in a finance and accounting organization
  • Previous experience in a finance / planning role in banking or financial services strongly preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and summarize data from multiple sources
  • Extensive experience overseeing business planning and budgeting process
