Global Tax Operations Vice President

Job Title

Job Description & Responsibilities

The Vice President will provide tax operations support for Blackstone's Tax Finance function. This individual will help manage the Tax Operations functions and help implement best practices and efficiencies across the Fund/Corporate Tax teams

  • Oversee and manage the current processes and team members responsible for the execution of various workstreams including tax payments, tax notices, tax refunds and tax documentation for newly formed entities.
  • Lead process transformation projects, including full documentation, to promote efficiency and transparency with Fund/Corporate Tax Teams and Tax Management.
  • Identify, communicate, and implement improvements to promote efficiencies in the execution of procedures.
  • Review current period account activity and workpaper supporting schedules for financial statement accounts and coordinate results with Consolidation Accounting and Reporting Team.
  • Manage accounting to support partner tax receivables balances associated with withholding and composite taxes and communicate balances to stakeholders including, but not limited to, insiders, former employees, Strategic Incentives Group, and management.
  • Manage accounting and monitoring of intercompany receivable associated with the withholding on distributions originating from various funds.
  • Collaborate on the development of a life-to-date withholding analysis determining the balance due to or by the organization and its partners at all levels (Funds, GP, and Corporate Level). Continuous monitoring of this analysis and data management to ensure any changes are identified and appropriately captured / documented.
  • Help drive an efficient operating model for FATCA, CRS, and AEOI reporting with our in-house team.
  • Mentor and train junior team members globally.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Operations, Fund / Corporate Tax Teams, AEOI, GFF, Investor Reporting, Treasury and Legal and Compliance.
  • Liaise with our dedicated tax technology and BXTI teams to determine improvements and cost/benefit of technology.

Qualifications

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors as well as

  • At least 7+ years of Big 4 tax experience in the alternative asset management and/or tax technology industry. Tax controversy and tax payments experience a plus.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree or certification in Taxation or Project Management is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of tax and Finance
  • processes/operations.
  • Experience with tax technology solutions, such as ETL, data visualizations, ERP systems, and databases.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving ability, and ability to work with various levels of management.
  • Detail oriented, highly organized and possess a strong work ethic.

Expected annual base salary range

Additional compensation Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individuals experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
