The Asset Secured Lending team within Global Banking & Markets at Goldman Sachs is looking for a senior Associate or Vice President level professional. The team's activity includes providing asset-backed bridge and term financing (and other types of strategic capital) to institutional and corporate clients of the firm, secured by portfolios of residential assets (loans and real estate), consumer loans and leases, solar loans and leases, and commercial receivables, as well as providing repo financing to clients on similar securitized products. The role will involve the sourcing, pricing, structuring, and execution of these financing transactions, client management and business development, and risk management of the team's existing book of lending positions, while collaborating with colleagues across Trading, Sales and Global Banking. The role provides broad exposure to a number of asset classes while allowing for client engagement across both traditional asset management / private equity and hedge fund clients as well as corporate and fintech companies.
Scope of Role
- Active client engagement on an ongoing basis including sourcing new opportunities, attending industry conferences, execution of live deals, conducting on-site due diligence, and managing existing client relationships. The candidate would work closely with colleagues from various internal teams, including but not limited to other parts of Global Banking & Markets, Credit Risk, Legal, Compliance, etc.
- Evaluation and execution of new potential transactions, which includes market research, on-site evaluation and diligence, analytical risk-based modeling and asset valuation work, and assessment of legal, regulatory compliance and other risks. Review and negotiate underlying deal documentation and conduct transaction structuring.
- Marketing and distribution of facilities to co-lenders (asset managers, insurance companies, and banks) that wish to co-invest alongside GS
- Ongoing risk-management and monitoring of transactions, including monitoring both macro factors and specific deal-level performance, executing hedging transactions, interfacing with other parts of Global Banking & Markets on updating asset marks based on new market information, and interfacing with Credit Risk, Legal, and Compliance on new/developing risks
