LNG works with Leveraged Finance and Capital Markets to negotiate financing commitment papers and credit agreement terms for leveraged and investment grade debt transactions. In addition, LNG plays a lead role in structuring, negotiating and documenting (with outside counsel) select high yield transactions, bridges, structured finance deals, project financings, complex amendments and other products. The Loan Negotiation Group team supports several businesses throughout the firm as well as the firm's credit department.
BDPG has two primary functions, (a) administrative agent on syndicated bank loans originated by the Financing Group globally and (b) amendment advisory and execution for syndicated loan clients of the Financing Group. BDPG interacts closely with both borrower clients and internal deal teams on issues involving loans, credit agreements, and related financial products. LNG and BDPG are both part of the Transaction Execution & Risk Management group, which is part of the Global Banking & Markets division.
The analyst who fills this position will split their time between both LNG and BDPG.
Responsibilities
- LNG
- Support more senior team members by keeping track of terms in documents, market data, fee comparisons and deals in market.
- Work with internal deal teams and in-house and outside counsel to structure, in some cases, highly complex, transactions.
- Negotiate Term Sheets and Commitment Letters with sponsors and borrowers.
- Coordinate with all internal teams including Capital Markets on the structure, pricing and economics.
- Participate in syndication process and conversations with investors on the structure and terms of documentation during syndication.
- BDPG
- Manage day-to-day client coverage and serve as a liaison between borrowers and bank loan investors
- Provide client borrower with lender list analysis, market and trading color, and other insights and information
- Provide financial analysis and surveillance of company performance to internal and external stakeholders
- Host lender calls and bank meetings
- Execute amendments, waivers and other liability management exercises for borrower clients
Basic Qualifications
- Prefer 1-3 years' experience in the finance industry, including at a bank, credit fund, rating agency or market data/research company
- Working knowledge of financial statements and financial statement analysis
- Excellent multi-tasking abilities required an ability to implement solutions that appropriately balance business needs and a control perspective is critical
- Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
- Ability to work flexible hours given deal timelines and committee meetings that regularly require weekend work
- Self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimum supervision a proactive team player with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to get along with others
- Must work well under pressure and have a positive, hands-on, can do attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in working across teams in high intensity environments, with demonstrated ability to play lead roles and make decisions.
- Sound credit analysis skills is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
