What Youll Do
We're looking for a Financial or Data Analyst to join our Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) team. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to impact our business in a meaningful way having a hand in all aspects for Pension Risk Transfer.
- Coding pricing model enhancements, and supporting Individual Case pricing initiatives
- Developing data and analytics work related to assumptions.
- Collaborating with multiple business partners, and communicating financial results to senior leadership and key partners across the Principal enterprise.
- Assist in various product initiatives and enhancements.

Who You Are
- Bachelors degree in math, actuarial science, finance, analytics or related field.
- 4+ years of relevant experience, pricing or coding experience preferred.
- A strong foundation in understanding actuarial concepts including life contingencies and interest theory.
- Skill in R programming language (or similar i.e. Python with the ability to quickly learn R).
- Self motivated with excellent problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills required.
- Demonstrates the ability to embrace and understand the change process, and effectively guides others through change.
- Knowledge of Excel and VBA required.
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
- Knowledge of Defined Benefit plans/valuation or PRT pricing (or similar products) strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL/Relational Databases and SAS programming preferred.
- Experience with AWS is a plus.

Work Environments
This role offers in-office, and hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) work arrangements from our Des Moines, IA headquarter office. You'll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
