The Financial Advisor Development Program Manager leads new hires through a 2-year rotational program designed to launch them into Vanguard's world class Advice business. They also drive process improvement projects in collaboration with HR and Advice business partners in order to enhance the program for the participants as well as to meet evolving business needs.
Core Responsibilities
- Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Manages and provides professional coaching to program participants. Conducts regular one on one and staff meetings with the participants. Coordinates and conducts the review process and delivers feedback and coaching to the participants.
- Develops, manages and executes large scale projects aligned with the specialty programs. Develops detailed project plans, meets established milestones, goals and objectives within established time frames. Keeps programs/projects on schedule and independently resolves problems/issues. Communicates progress, issues, and solutions to senior management to obtain input or buy-in as appropriate.
- Ensures the programs run smoothly for the participants and the organization. Partners with business leaders to develop internship, rotation and launching assignments.
- Monitors program progress, identifies trends and/or issues, and presents viable solutions to senior management to obtain input or buy-in as appropriate. Provides written and oral communication to many different organizations and audiences within Vanguard on the status of the programs. Develops presentations and conducts informational sessions to communicate program goals, objectives, and findings to all appropriate parties.
- Partners with divisional clients to establish and/or align HR strategies, practices, and priorities with business strategy. Recommends approaches to obtain both long and short term objectives. Ensures that all appropriate stakeholders needs and issues are properly addressed.
- Partners with Talent Acquisition partners on the recruiting strategy to ensure it is aligned with program goals.
- Works with training partners to ensure that program training plan is targeted appropriately to meet program goals and objectives.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
What it takes
- Minimum of three years related experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
