Responsibilities
This individual will be a member of the EMEA Finance team. Working closely with teams globally including the Centre of Excellence (COE) in India, they will be responsible for
- Maintaining the books and records of fund and/or corporate entities and any other relevant entities for monthly reporting purposes under US GAAP and IFRS
- Monitoring payables and receivables across a number of entities and working with Blackstone's EMEA Treasury, Payroll and Accounts Payable team to manage the related cash flows
- Preparing quarterly and ad hoc financial regulatory returns to financial regulatory bodies including the CSSF
- Enhancing management information through various means, including trend analyses and monthly commentary on the ongoing activities of the relevant entities
- Assisting Blackstone's central Finance team in New York on any queries in relation to group quarterly and annual reporting
- Preparation of statutory financial statements under local GAAP, audit packs and supporting the external/internal audit process
- Preparation of VAT and corporate tax returns, understanding the requirements, and working with the internal tax team and external tax advisors to ensure a thorough review process
- Assisting in the preparation of information for board meetings
- Ensuring a robust control environment for all financial reporting, to ensure compliance with all relevant obligations including Sarbanes Oxley
- Assistance with ad hoc analysis and other management reporting as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree qualified, Chartered Accountant (preferably with Big 4 background) with 2+ years post qualification experience or ACCA / CIMA with equivalent experience gained in industry, preferably in financial services
- Strong technical accounting skills, with knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS preferred
- Working knowledge of accounting applications such as Oracle and Investran an advantage
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Excellent attention to detail and consistently and proactively delivers accurate, high quality work
- Highly organised, goal oriented, and solutions focused with a focus on continuous improvement
- Demonstrates ownership and accountability, manages work independently and knows when to escalate matters
- Works collaboratively across the team, contributing to a dynamic and inclusive team environment
