What Youll Do

Principal has an exciting opportunity within our Benefits & Protection business, Non-Qualified IT Team. We're looking for a full stack Software Engineer who will thrive in an evolving product driven organization. This position is centered around a product team that will be working close to the customer experience. The right candidate will have experience with Salesforce, AWS, and many traditional Java front & back-end frameworks. You will need to be flexible and a motivated self-learner. Flexible in that you are comfortable playing various roles within the team and motivated to continuously learn the cutting-edge technologies.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone with

  • Associates or bachelors degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field) or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience working with Java is required.
  • Strongest candidates will have exposure to many of the bullets below.

Additional preferred skills/experience

  • Salesforce admin and experience cloud (Apex/LWC)
  • Working within the cloud environment (AWS preferred)
  • Familiarity with Angular and/or React (along with proficiency in Typescript/JavaScript
  • SQL exposure
  • Strong understanding and preference for automated testing
  • Informal leadership

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You'll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
