POSITION
The Senior Equity Portfolio Analyst will be based in St. Louis or Menomonee Falls, WI and will be part of a team responsible for managing $41 billion in equity assets across multiple portfolios.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Equity Portfolio Analyst will work closely with existing portfolio managers/analysts on security selection, portfolio strategy and risk management as, well as with other members of the team including product/client managers. In this role they will build trusting relationships internally with the current team, the investment analytics team, other investment professionals across the firm and client facing partners. The ability to take risk and challenge investment views is critical, as is the humility to admit mistakes and a desire to learn from others and appreciate the benefits of diverse perspectives. Additionally, this individual will interact regularly with clients, primarily financial advisors, over time as an ambassador for the team. The successful candidate will enjoy being an individual contributor within a collaborative team and embrace the benefits of overlapping lines of idea generation. The ability to communicate (both verbally and in writing) action-oriented opinions clearly and with conviction and contribute to an open investment dialogue is important.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 - 7 years of analyst experience is desired
- Exhibit a research oriented, bottom-up approach, supported by a strong investment philosophy and process
- People and/or process management skills are a plus
- experience managing processes withing a team
- Superior collaboration skills
- Creative approach for thinking about innovation and the next generation of the investment industry
- Enjoy being an individual contributor within a highly collaborative team
- Growth mindset - desire and openness to continue learning, evolving and growing as an investor
- Established track record as an equity/income investor is preferred and risk management experience would be additive
- Independence of thought, intellectual curiosity, and an entrepreneurial nature
- Strong presentation skills to communicate investment decisions and strategies to clients and colleagues
- Solid quantitative skills and a passion for the use of technology
- Undergraduate degree with a strong academic record MBA/CFA/CAIA preferred though not required.
