This is a great opportunity to make a significant contribution to the effective governance and business management of EMEA Distribution. It will require co-ordination across a wide range of stakeholders alongside a deep understanding of Asset Management and Distribution, to deliver highly effective, well functioning business processes and relevant insight for Columbia Threadneedle leadership.
The role has two parts - the effective governance and processes around EMEA Distribution, alongside a critical understanding and impact into our commercial delivery.
Governance Support and co-ordination around Distribution Controls, include, but are not limited to
- 1. SMCR - Ensuring Distribution related responsibilities are mapped, delegated and overseen correctly
- 2. Distribution Risk Profiles - Maintain / contribute to risk profiles of EMEA Distribution (in accordance with Ameriprise / RLO framework). Identify and escalate risks in BAU distribution operating environment and engage senior management as part of business led risk management.
- 3. Audit and Compliance Management - Support Distribution in Audit and Compliance reviews and engage business leaders in effective execution of any actions (Audit Maps).
- 4. Sales and Operating Policies - Maintain overall Distribution policies, change requirements and governance against policy. Ensure training delivered and tracked (i.e. MIFID course enrollment for new starters)
- 5. Rebates - Sample checking to ensure appropriate set up (per rebate controls requirement) until automation/global transformation reduces risk level.
All aspects of the role will require effective reporting to internal committees and boards relating to the core risk profile and key performance indicators.
In addition, you will be involved in, and drive, process engineering. This may apply to policy/process mapping, agreement and documentation relating to key change Offshoring, Integration, operating model implementation and any further interaction into governance processes and Ameriprise controls.
You will also support and drive insightful management information on the commercial operations of Distribution. This may include, but not limited to
- 1. Prepare Management Information, reporting and analytics to support Distribution leadership in critical decision making and monitoring business performance.
- 2. Conduct ad hoc research on behalf of the distribution leadership team. Examples may include, building a business case, or capturing market feedback and trends for sales leads.
- 3. Drive ad hoc initiatives as relevant to bring efficiencies to the Distribution process, and/or pursue commercial opportunities.
- 4. Create presentations and reporting packs for various formal committees and boards
To be successful in this role you will have...
- Extensive relevant experience with a background in both Asset Management and Distribution from both a business governance and a commercial perspective.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong ability to break down problems and co-ordinate effective solutions, which can be embedded into BAU and effectively monitored.
- Well developed stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey both governance and commercial focus areas of a business to deliver effective upwards communication.
- Demonstrable track record of change leadership and/or people management.
