What will you do?

This role will be leading applications on best use of Oracle and DB2 technologies, helping with database designs and database architecture, backup and recovery strategy, performance and tuning, monitoring. It will also provide DBA services and support both in non-production environments thru to production and DRP environments. The daily activities would include the below

  • Lead and manage a highly skilled team of DBA professionals
  • Direct, motivate, develop and oversee the performance of the management team and key staff.
  • Communicate with our application and business partners, our infrastructure partners and our database vendors, and upper management.
  • Drive new database release planning, migration, new feature and capabilities, develop strategies to meet new initiatives determine current and future work volumes and resourcing needs
  • Lead the development and adoption of best practices for technology architecture and management.
  • 24X7 on-call support is a requirement for the team and management on-call 24X7 is also required for P1, P2 or other critical escalations.

What will you need?

Must Haves

  • Experience of managing and leading a DBA team.
  • Strong Oracle technical knowledge with 10+ years of experience with Oracle databases.
  • Knowledge and experience in one more database technology (except Oracle), like DB2 LUW, SQL, MongoDB.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and projects, while meeting time-sensitive deadlines across many top priorities and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills

Nice to Haves

  • DB2 (LUW) DBA experience
  • Cloud Database knowledge
