Job Description
Our operations are global, located in North and South America, Europe and Asia.
The Director of Investor Relations will be responsible for ownership, coordination and execution of quarterly deliverables and ongoing investor relation activities in Europe, and in collaboration with the broader IR team based in Toronto and New York, on ad hoc projects and requests. This role will also support fundraising initiatives within the private equity platform and will provide ongoing support for existing and prospective investors primarily within the region. The individual will interact with all levels of the private equity organization, including senior leadership, investment professionals and the private funds group.
Responsibilities
- Proactively manage investor relationships for certain private funds within private equity, executing on strategies to raise investor awareness and understanding of the business
- Crisply and effectively articulate Brookfield's private equity strategy to stakeholders, including describing new transaction activity as well as ongoing portfolio updates
- Coordinate and actively participate in quarter end activities, including fund webcasts, and other communications to investors
- Actively engage in the formulation of key messaging to the market and be an effective communicator of this messaging both verbally and in written format
- Plan recurring and adhoc investor meetings, including Brookfield's annual private funds investor day, and all related materials
- Support the fundraising process within private equity, including the coordination and preparation of DDQs, marketing materials, and RFIs
- Prepare communications on topical items relevant to the business, and be able to communicate the firm's views internally and externally
- Support in coordination of co-investment processes
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in business or finance
- ACA/ACCA and or MBA and/or CFA designation preferred
- 5+ years of experience in any of the following disciplines capital markets, investment banking, equity research, corporate development, investor relations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with Salesforce
- History of working with multiple stakeholders including either public or private investors
- Strong oral and verbal communication skills with a particular strength in dealing with a wide variety of individuals at various levels within and outside of the organization
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, global environment and to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Analytic and strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex situations and make effective recommendations
- Excellent organizational skills and capability to effectively manage priorities while meeting timelines
- Proactive self-starter who is able to handle pressure effectively and has experience working with senior management teams
