Role Description
Reporting to the Co-Head of the Alternative Specialists Team EMEA for institutional clients, this position will cover the DACH region and be based in Germany (Frankfurt or Munich). It will focus on delivering the full breath of BlackRock's private markets capabilities to institutional clients with a particular emphasis on the asset class infrastructure. In close co-operation with the institutional sales, product strategy and investment teams the individual will be responsible for setting and executing the business development strategy for infrastructure to maximize BlackRock's impact in the DACH region.
Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy Define and execute the sales strategy for infrastructure with institutional investors in the DACH region
- Business Development Identify emerging client needs for BlackRock to focus on. Share market intelligence with sales and product strategy teams to further evolve BlackRock's investment solutions
- Grow Book of Business Lead capital raising for infrastructure in the DACH region with new and existing investors
- Cross-Selling Develop cross-selling opportunities to deepen the private markets relationships with institutional investors
- Collaboration Partner with the local institutional sales teams as well as the investment and product strategy teams to ensure a co-ordinated and effective approach to client engagement and fund raising
- Brand Building Raise the local profile of BlackRock's infrastructure and private equity capabilities via conference speaking engagements, media and marketing activities
Knowledge/Experience
- Proven track record (min. 5 years) in raising capital for the asset class infrastructure in a business development or product strategist role
- Deep level of experience and understanding of private market asset classes, i.p. infrastructure and awareness of the key development in the private market sector
- Strong knowledge of the DACH institutional market for private markets and ability to build relationships across client segments
- Understand the key drivers of success and offering base of competitors
- Organizational skills to aggregate, synthesize and prioritize sales activities in the region
- Display natural leadership among broader sales team to drive business development and to establish credibility in executing the sales strategy
- Successful team player with ability to also work alone
- Experience of managing multiple internal stakeholders, both regional and global
- Ability to effectively execute on decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate high ethical standards and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor degree (Master degree preferred) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or equal professional experience
- Analytical skills and experience working with Excel and PowerPoint
- CFA or CAIA designations a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication / presentation skills in English and German
