Business overview
The Wealth Sales team in the Middle East develops and maintains relationships and drives flows in Index, Active and Alternative products and solutions in the Middle East market.
Key Responsibilities
This position is based in Dubai, focusing on delivering the full range of BlackRock product capabilities (Index/ETF, active funds, Alternatives) as well as solutions (Technology) and Services (Model portfolios, Portfolio construction) to Wealth Management and Asset Management clients across the Middle East. The candidate will be working closely with global internal partner groups with the aim of delivering the best of BlackRock to our clients. In addition, the role requires the candidate to design and execute a clear client segment strategy focused on the delivery of new business opportunities.
Your job description includes the following
- Set a client centric strategy to deepen client relationships and contribute to the growth of BlackRock's franchise.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, identifying opportunities for new business and building loyalty among existing clients. Deepen existing senior client relationships (with focus on C-suite). Develop account plans to proactively manage Accountable Executive engagement tied to clear commercial outcomes.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of BlackRocks products and solutions and ensure that the Sales team is knowledgeable and delivers the firm to clients across the full breadth of our product, solutions and technology platform in the Middle East market, proactively looking to establish partnership relationships where relevant.
- Build out and monitor BlackRock's book of business in the region in line with firm's best practices, taking ownership of performance.
- In partnership with the existing team and the Head of Wealth for the Middle East, own and drive the Middle East Wealth strategy and ongoing coverage of relationships with Wealth Managers and Asset Managers.
- Facilitate engagement and partnership with Sales and Product Specialists to meet client objectives. Work closely with other teams within BlackRock to ensure a coordinated approach to execute on product priorities and expand specialism within Wealth.
- Execute product campaigns via product education sessions digitally as well as on the ground.
- Participation in and organization of client events, presentations, educational sessions as speaker and further development of such formats.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships and portfolio solutions to support new and existing client relationships and cross-functional projects.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activities, and adjust the sales strategy and tactics accordingly. Embed portfolio construction at the heart of client conversations.
- Independently and collaboratively undertake research of the Wealth landscape in the region, contributing to the development of BLK products & solutions to meet evolving needs of our clients.
- Increase accessibility and utilization of firm thought leadership capabilities by Middle East clients.
- Ensure that all sales activities comply with relevant regulations, internal controls and policies and that all regulatory & legal requirements are met personally and within the team
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and client feedback, and use this information to refine the sales strategy and tactics. Champion CRM system usage (including the transition to Microsoft Dynamics) across the team to drive data-driven decision making for the business.
Overall, you would be responsible for driving revenue growth, building strong client relationships, and driving a high-performing sales team.
Knowledge/Experience
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in a financial services distribution focused role
- Thorough knowledge of the local Private Banking, Wealth and Asset Management industry and market dynamics
- Deep understanding of the sales process, prospecting, complaint handling, closing and long-term relationship management.
- Deep understanding of BlackRock capabilities and how they align to client needs Cash, Active, Index, Alternatives and Aladdin
- Significant experience in leading individuals and teams to achieve objectives and driving results inspiring and motivating people to the highest levels of performance.
- Comfortable speaking the language of portfolio construction. Deep market knowledge including the Middle East Wealth market.
- Thinks critically and strategically not afraid to challenge the status quo.
- Strong Sales skills incl. excellent presentation/speaker skills, opening, pipeline management, identification and influencing of decision makers.
