We are seeking a highly talented individual who can lead development activities for an existing onshore & offshore agile development team. Our team supports the investment operations and fund treasury business teams and manages all technology systems they use daily. The team develops on Oracle, MSSQL, ADF, Python, SnowFlake, Azure, .NET, SSRS.
Dodge & Cox currently leverages Eagle PACE/STAR as its core accounting and data warehouse platform. In the next 2-3 years, much of this functionality will move to both new accounting and cloud data platforms. This role will support the current architecture and help transition to the new target state architecture.
Responsibilities
- Strategic thinker who is able to operate across multiple aspects of a development team and execute on various stages of SDLC while driving the delivery of high quality software in a fast paced environment.
- Lead an agile team that leverages JIRA for backlogs, velocity, sprints, releases, scrums, etc. This would include scrum master tasks, story grooming, sprint retrospectives, etc.
- Engage in the daily oversight of development, design, testing, support and planning with engineers and technical analysts
- Operate effectively across various development streams to support production processes, new development requirements and our transition to SaaS and cloud offerings
- Support the process of onboarding team members working with our development partners.
- Ensure team follows departmental policies and procedures
- Identify and plan for resource needs in support of business initiatives
- Participate in annual and periodic roadmap planning sessions in conjunction with PMs and stakeholders
- Present team status to steering committees and other leadership groups as requested
- Support process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- 15 years total work experience with relevant responsibilities.
- Proven experience managing diverse and complex technology development teams.
- Strong depth in one or more database development languages, preferably PL/SQL, MSSQL and/or Snowflake
- Demonstrated experience in data modeling and understanding of core database modeling principles.
- Demonstrated passion & understanding of technical
- landscape/architecture
- Understanding of the full SDLC process and proven ability in execution.
- Change management knowledge, including overseeing (and at times driving or leading) complex change initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with project stakeholders from various parts of the overall organization
- Ability to work independently, handle several projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience managing an

- Proven software development experience.
- B.S. related to engineering or computer science
- Experience in asset management/finance organizations preferred.
- Experience with Eagle PACE/STAR or like systems highly desired.
The salary range for this position is $195k - $210k.
The listed pay scale denotes only the pay range of the base salary and does not include discretionary bonus compensation, which may make up an important portion of the total remuneration.
