Core Responsibilities
- Serves as a subject matter expert on global data privacy laws and regulations.
- Oversees the maintenance and evolution of the privacy program framework, including the design and development of policies, standards, and procedures.
- Consults with business leaders to implement data privacy policies and procedures as well as assess data privacy and security risks, with the objective of mitigating potential privacy incidents.
- Leads the maintenance and continuous improvement over the global privacy framework.
- Leads privacy-related forums and trainings to increase awareness around the privacy program as well as to ensure adherence to data privacy laws and regulations.
- Reviews existing processes to identify areas for improvement. Develops and implements privacy best-practices.
- Implements processes to ensure compliance with pending requirements as needed.
- Works with counsel to implement new requirements as needed.
- Reviews metrics developed by the team to build program measures and provide insights to management across the enterprise.
- Participates in industry privacy organizations and associations to learn emerging trends and best practices.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years related work experience, compliance or regulatory experience in the financial services industry preferred.
- CIPP certification(s) preferred
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
