The Opportunity
The Cyber Fraud Analyst is a member of the Fraud Analyst & Analytics team responsible for delivering enhanced monitoring and alerting in response to fraud events. In this position, youll report to the Director of Digital and New Business in Fraud Operations and works cross-functionally with Security, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and IT response teams. You will work closely with Fraud Analysts and serve as a technical mentor to Fraud Analysts as well as working closely with the Trusted Identity project teams responsible for deploying Customer Identity capabilities focused on preventative solutions to mitigate emergent threats.

MassMutual's Digital and New Business Fraud Team is focused on the strategic prevention and detection of the ever-evolving threat of digital and new business fraud, by developing a comprehensive strategy rooted in industry expertise, cutting-edge technology, research, and the innovative implementation.
The Impact
As the Cyber Fraud Analyst
your responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following
- Ensure 90% or greater of all fraud is prevented across MassMutual
- Maximize the value of the features created by the team(s)
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including customers, advisors, business partners, and working teams to make sure the goals are clear, and the vision is aligned with business objectives.
- Research and analyze identified digital alerts and threats identified by fraud detection technologies.
- Assess and execute proper steps, in partnership with key business partners, to protect customer accounts while assessing broader mitigation recommendations.
- Accountable for the continuous improvement of the digital alerts process and supporting investigation artifacts as it relates to standard operating procedures, alert effectiveness analysis and production volumes.
- Identify opportunities for improvements to response, detection, and prevention for the online channel. Perform analysis, conduct pilots to prove value add and work to deliver those opportunities into production.
- Report on and tune monitoring rules to address false positives & negatives, including the ability to leverage indicators and patterns of compromise to identify at risk customers and company assets
- Work closely with Product Owners to provide operational support and maintenance of monitoring processes and applications through configuration changes, upgrades, testing and documentation
The Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with investigative tool sets, such as a NIDS, NIPS, SIEM (i.e. Splunk, Sumo Logic, QRadar, Securonix, etc.), or Financial Crimes/ AML monitoring platforms (i.e. NICE-Actimize, FiServ-FCRM, FICO-Falcon etc.)
- 1+ year of experience performing intrusion detection, threat hunting and prevention monitoring along with documenting results of investigations
- 1+ year of experience in the Financial Services or Health Care industry
- 1+ year of experience working knowledge of Financial Crime, Anti-Money Laundering, Elder Abuse, or Diminished Capacity concepts, rules and regulations preferred
- 1+ year of experience researching, analyzing and presenting findings and recommendations
- High School diploma
- Due to the nature of the position, as a part of our background check process, candidates must be able to pass a non-registered fingerprinted background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA
