As the UK Business Banking Senior Associate in our Credit Strategy team, you will be responsible for defining, refining and overseeing the execution of credit risk strategies, ensuring robust credit controls are in place to support the launch of a new Business Banking lending product in the UK. The work will continue at pace thereafter, as the portfolio grows and new products, features and customer segments are launched. You will leverage your experience of Business Banking credit decisioning, operations and regulations, alongside a strong oversight and monitoring mindset, to make informed strategy optimization decisions. Job responsibilities

  • Performs in-depth analysis, particularly default rate analysis, to develop optimal credit risk strategies (including rules, cutoffs, policies, strategy data mapping, strategy and procedure documentation etc.)
  • Conducts analytics on credit strategy effectiveness and partner with the Modelling team to enhance economic logic that supports core risk management decisions
  • Actively participates at Credit Forum and Risk Committees as required by the ICB (International Consumer Bank) and Firmwide Governance and Risk Management Framework plus regulatory updates
  • Ensures credit strategies are assessed, implemented and delivered according to relevant Change Governance, and that requirements are collated, documented and well understood by all delivery partners, including ways to monitor the new process
  • Works with data platform teams to ensure availability of key data to support credit strategy evaluation, optimization and process management

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • A credit professional with a deep understanding of credit risk strategies, processes and related analytics
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills to clearly present analytical findings and make business recommendations via the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Able to work effectively in agile environments, delivering value whilst managing fast paced change
  • Evidence of initiative, driving results, teamwork and collaboration
  • Experience of how to perform data extraction, manipulation and analysis in a programming language (such as SQL, R, Python, SAS)

  • A degree, or its international equivalent, in a numerate discipline such as mathematics, engineering, computer science, physical or biological sciences, economics or business
