As a UK Credit Risk Assurance Associate in our Credit Strategy team, you will spend every day accessing the quality of credit risk decisions and their effectiveness. In line with credit risk governance and associated 1LOD and 2LOD processes and controls, you will provide assurance for the effective running of credit strategiesto meet the needs of the launch of our first Chase borrow product in the UK, with work continuing at pace thereafter, as the portfolio grows and with new products, features and customer segments being launched.You will leverage your experience of credit risk, operations and regulations, to perform a program of independent credit risk assurance activities, in addition to mapping assurance activities across 1LOD and 2LOD, as they apply to managing credit risk, making sure the relevant risks are understood, documented, and opportunities for improvement are discussed, and acted upon, as necessary. You will also coordinate the delivery of credit risk information requests for regulators and audit teams, and credit risk assessments to support firmwide processes, such as new business initiatives.
Job responsibilities

- Manages and maintain a risk register across credit risk
- Plans and execute independent assurance activities, such as in-cycle testing, thematic reviews, that target focus areas across the credit lifecycle
- Distributes credit risk assurance results and reviews as required to the Credit Risk Oversight Forum, ICB CRO, and JPMEL / ICB risk committee.
- Acts as a key point of coordination for all regulatory and audit requests for information
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- A credit risk professional within the banking or consumer credit sector, with a deep understanding of credit strategies, processes and related analytics
- Deep understanding of UK regulatory landscape
- Experience working within the 2LOD for a company within financial services
- Advanced PC Skills, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel (graphs, charts, formulas etc.)
- Evidence of initiative, bringing results, teamwork and collaboration
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience of how to perform data extraction, manipulation and analysis in a programming language is a plus (such as SQL, Python)
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills to clearly present analytical findings, issues and make business recommendations
- Able to work effectively in agile environments, delivering value whilst managing and adapting quickly to fast paced change
