Execute high priority and complex risk and control transformation projects for the firm by using best-in-class project management skills and strong working knowledge of financial services and GS-specificoperational risk processes. The role creates an opportunity to design and deliver key operational risk frameworks for the firm, engaging at all stages of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) transformation.
The role is located in Dallas as part of the first line of defense Operational Risk & Resilience (ORR) team within the Corporate Planning & Management (CP&M) Division. You will be part of a dedicated team whose focus is to strengthen the firm's infrastructure to support the effective management of first line operational risk and resilience across the firm's business services, including enhancing our risk governance processes. You will work closely with divisional risk functions and the second line of defense Operational Risk teams to help deliver the enterprise risk transformation for the firm.
This role will initially focus on a key regulatory program where you will work as part of a workstream to contribute to the delivery of a multi-year strategic initiative. Post this program your role would be to execute the ongoing delivery of the risk and control frameworks developed as part of the transformation project. By performing the role the candidate will acquire detailed knowledge of multiple operational risk management areas within the firm.
Responsibilities will include
- Partnering with Operational Risk & Resilience (ORR) leadership divisions to identify, define and document project objectives and requirements
- Supporting the development of Process, Control, Risk, Assessment/Incident Management, and Issue Management framework design
- Mapping horizontal risk processes end-to-end and identifying control gaps as part of the mapping to drive remediation prioritization efforts
- Working with and across businesses teams to develop and execute framework proposals to achieve objectives identifying key milestones and critical path
- Structuring ambiguous problems and taking action to solve them without complete information
- Preparing materials for working groups and committees, project dashboards, operating model diagrams, requirement specifications, test plans, etc.
- Conducing detailed problem tracking, resolution and completion of all actions and issues by their deadlines
- Communicating updates, statuses and timelines to stakeholders, and escalating items at risk
- Supporting teams with best practices, program-wide tools, dashboards and other enablers
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelors degree
- Risk management experience
- Financial and operational risk management experience, specifically, preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines experience in project management is a must
- Drive, motivation and resilience ability to handle multiple tasks, taking initiative to improve his / her own performance, working intensely towards goals and persisting in the face of obstacles or setbacks
