Position Overview
We are seeking a temporary COO to join Apollo Global Management on a maternity cover basis. The Principal will work as part of the Enterprise Solutions COO team focused on the International business supporting the European COO and Enterprise Solutions management team.
In this role, the candidate will be heavily involved in developing and managing a broad range of business priorities with regular exposure to the Europe & Asia CFO and other Enterprise Solutions leadership team. The candidate's responsibilities will include assisting the European COO in all aspects of business management, ensuring strategic initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively, providing insights and management support to streamline operations, enhance communication, and drive forward our strategic goals and support models.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, a relationship builder and a self-starter. The candidate will act as a thought partner and play an integral role in the successful execution of the regions strategic goals. The permanent role is a relatively new role and so is essential that the candidate is a self-starter and
proactive in shaping responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the European COO, Europe & Asia CFO in the day-to-day management of their businesses and progress towards firm-wide goals and group targets providing support on key initiatives and decisions. Help develop solutions to challenging problems facing the business
- Project Management of key initiatives to help implement support models across the regional groups
- Strategic development and planning for International Enterprise Solutions driving organizational vision, operational strategy and hiring needs in order to support business lines and investment strategies
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among senior leadership across the departments
- Build effective and consistent governance and reporting updates to senior management
- Budget Planning and aligning the budget to the agreed strategic direction
- Partner with regional Leadership to define and drive forward key culture and people initiatives
- Partner with other Enterprise Solutions Global COOs and/or broader firm leadership to drive department objectives
- Assist in organizing meeting and operational cadence, including preparation of agendas and materials Townhalls, Operating Groups
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience at an investment bank, consulting firm, asset manager in a COO capacity
- Strong stakeholder engagement skillset, comfortable communicating across all levels, ability to chair and lead meetings with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rigorous work environment demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines
- Exemplary interpersonal skills necessary to handle sensitive information and confidential situations
- Team-oriented and collaborative attitude is a must
- Critical thinker with strong quantitative and analytical skills who expresses their thoughts and ideas clearly both in oral and written communications
- Superior management presentation skills able to condense complicated multi-faceted issues into the key items to bring to management's attention and detail orientation
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint are required
- Role requires individual to be nimble and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously
- The ability to take on a task and see it through to conclusion is a critical characteristic of this role
- Individual must have strong drive, initiative, and demonstrate entrepreneurial skillets
