Position Overview

The Associate, Compensation Equity Businesses for Apollo Asset Management will primarily support Apollo's Private Equity, FIG, Hybrid Value, Climate, and Real Estate businesses in all areas of compensation. This includes but not limited to strategy and design, administration, and execution and delivery of ad hoc compensation reporting needs for all Equities businesses. In addition, this role will work closely with the Principal, Compensation Equity Businesses and the entire compensation team in driving a successful year-end compensation process across all stakeholder groups. This role partners with members across HC and Finance including Human Capital Business Partners, BP&A, HC Operations, Payroll, Carry & Co-Invest, and the Comp Finance team as well as business leaders across the firm. This position will report to the Principal, Compensation for the Equity businesses.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Compensation team with compensation strategy, design, analysis, firm-wide comp expense
  • budgeting/forecasting,
  • Supports the year-end annual compensation process including bonus pool analysis, production of compensation templates for managers, compensation statements for employees and enhancements of related year-end processes
  • Performs complex Compensation analyses for presentation to firm-wide Senior Leaders
  • Monitors labor market trends and continuously evaluate market competitiveness of compensation structures for Equities and other functions supported
  • Improves current state of function through automation and repeatable report creation for respective businesses
  • Partners closely with business leaders and Human Capital Business Partners to support business strategy(s) including complex analytics

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ideally 4-5 years of compensation experience, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Experience with HRIS systems, proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience conducting benchmarking analyses and distilling into actionable insights
  • Ability to independently take on multiple tasks with high degree of attention to detail
  • Proactive go-getter with an entrepreneurial spirit that offers suggestions for improvement and actively pushes Compensation function forward in both efficiency and effectiveness
  • Superior communication and listening skillset, experience with senior
  • leadership/stakeholders
  • Candidate must have an analytical, logical thought process for developing solutions
  • High level of self-awareness and humility, with excitement about confronting new challenges
  • Strong financial accounting acumen (e.g., GAAP) a plus
  • Understanding of carried interest and co-investment programs a plus
