Join our Commodity Markets and Finance division's APAC commodity finance business, based in either Singapore or Dubai as an experienced structured commodity finance professional. As part of Macquarie's Commodities and Global Markets group, you will have the opportunity to grow our South East Asia commodity finance origination and structuring as part of the broader existing APAC commodity finance business.

What role will you play?

You will use your keen business development mindset to look for niches to establish across the Southeast Asia region and India, and structuring will require you to be able to navigate and combine traditional bank financing and physical ownership structures to leverage Macquarie's physical and financial commodity platform. In this role you will be relied on for your subject matter expertise and be familiar with the varieties of commodity financing structures, project finance and experienced with physical commodity conventions. You will have the opportunity to work with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management so experience in dealing with senior internal stakeholders and having excellent communication skills and a clear and concise mindset will be vital to your success.

What you offer

  • At least 10 years of experience in a commodity finance role (bank, corporate or trade house), across commodities (energy, metals and agriculture) is preferred, but niches in specific commodities will be considered.
  • A strong existing network, but also the ability to develop senior client relationships. These relationships could be across c-suite, finance/treasury, physical trading or logistics.
  • The ability to contribute to thought leadership/idea creation in terms of new, innovative structures and solutions for clients.
  • Understanding the accounting and balance sheet implications of structures, designing pitches for clients, designing, and drafting term sheets, reviewing and negotiating transaction contracts and other, related technical work.
  • A risk management mindset, and demonstrated good track record with past transactions.
