We are looking for a Business Resilience Specialist within the European Resilience & Governance function. We are seeking a strong resilience/ continuity specialist to partner with leaders across the European business to promote the strategic direction and plans to ensure business continuity and effective emergency management.
Core Responsibilities
- The role requires business continuity experience, and the key responsibility will be to create and implement an enhanced business continuity framework for the European business.
- Assists with the development, maintenance, exercising and testing of crisis management and business continuity plans.
- Maintain governance and oversight of the IT Disaster Recovery Plan and scenario playbooks.
- Provides direction on the operating strategies for the continuation of business within a recovery time objective.
- Identifies and quantifies the potential impact of various disruptions and disaster scenarios and make recommendations and elevates to management.
- Monitors and reports on the compliance of business continuity processes, readiness, events and exercise results to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Provides training, maintenance, and support for approved contingency planning tools and plans. Shares information on enterprise continuity processes, standards, and initiatives.
- Builds and maintains effective relationships to support the business continuity framework. Assists business partners and business units in defining, implementing, and improving local efforts to ensure the European business is resilient.
- Maintains awareness of regulatory risk and control topics. Seeks to understand broad industry and Vanguard trends regarding risk and control.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
- Carry out crisis management tabletop exercises for senior management.
- Monitor and report on the status of business continuity readiness
- Maintain governance and oversight of the IT Disaster Recovery Plan and exercise.
- Review, audit, and update BC plans, with the business, regularly to reflect changing organisational needs or external threats.
What it takes
- Minimum of five years related work experience. Business continuity and/or disaster recovery experience is essential and operational resilience experience is preferred.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience of working in the financial sector is desirable.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills will be key as this role will face off to a variety of stakeholders across the business.
- Relevant Business Continuity qualifications are preferred Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) (CBCP) or Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP).
- Able to work independently and across different teams.
