Job Description
Human Resources Services (HRS) is an internal function providing global operations and business support across Brookfield's lines of business.

Responsibilities
- Serves as Brookfield's onsite resource for questions and assistance related to absences taken by employees. Conducts leave process overview with employees as needed.
- Acts as the subject matter expert on all aspects of leave from initial request to return, including but not limited to STD, LTD ADA, FMLA, Paid Parental Leave, Military, Jury Duty, Medical, etc.
- Works with Employees, Managers, HR, and Leave/Disability Vendor to track and monitor all leave related absences, ensuring the coordination and success of all leave related requests.
- Ensures Leave vendor applies appropriate legal standards per federal, and state policies to resolve routine and complex cases and issues.
- Processes and reviews bi-weekly benefit payment amounts, ensuring state offsets have been applied correctly.
- Supports in preparing metrics and measurement reports for team, business, and/or leadership on leaves of absence.
- Drafts communications (website, handbook, memoranda, and training materials) that clearly state the leave administration and absence management policies and procedures.
- Collaborates closely with the HRIS team to maximize technological capabilities in leave administration and absence management processes and procedures.

- Assists the team in developing new and revised processes, procedures, and form templates related to leave and absences.
- Works closely in partnership with Manager, Benefits and Senior Analyst, Benefits.
- Supports in other areas of the benefits team including health & welfare plan administration and inquiries.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Post-secondary education (University or College graduate)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Benefits and Leave of Absence administration in a professional service environment
- Subject matter expertise in various leave categories
- Experience with an HRIS (Workday experience is an asset)
- Experience supporting various levels of employees
- Client-service oriented
- Ability to independently problem solve and exercise sound judgment, using previous experience and analysis where requests or more complex or non-standard
- Analytical thinker
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Conscientious with a strong attention to accuracy and details
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities
- Self-motivated to take initiative and ownership on issues and manage to resolution
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills including MS Office applications Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
- Mathematical and deductive reasoning skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply or divide quickly and correctly
