The Assistant Vice President position for Bank Debt Accounting & Processing will work closely with agents, custodians, traders, investment teams, and accounting teams and be responsible for ensuring all post-settlement bank debt activity is processed timely and accurately to Oaktree's books and records. In addition, this person will be engaged with various initiatives to increase straight through processing capabilities, improve processes, identify and evaluate technology based solutions, participate in cross-functional initiatives, work with the technology team to design, write specifications, test, and deliver new functionality. This position can be based in Los Angeles or New York.
Scope and responsibilities
- Oversee an offshore team based in India of 5-6 individuals focused on providing bank debt servicing responsibilities
- Monitor day-to-day bank loan events and ensure they are processed accurately and timely across multiple accounts, funds, and special purpose vehicles
- Confirm event details with agents in an expedited fashion when necessary
- Review drawdown requests, obtain required approvals and coordinate with Accounting team on payment of all revolver and delayed draw fundings
- Trouble-shoot problematic events processed across Geneva, Oaktree's accounting based platform
- Ensure Oaktree is meeting requirements related to event processing and validating the team is following all daily procedures and audit requirements
- Monitor bank debt trades to ensure events taking place between trade and settlement are accounted for and properly attributed towards ultimate settlement of trades
- Analyze reported position and cash breaks and work with agents, custodians, and other required parties to effectively resolve
- Facilitate meetings with accounting, reconciliation teams, and other stakeholder groups to address processing issues or other concerns
- Document effective procedures and train others where necessary
Experience required
- 6-8 years relevant operations experience specific expertise and knowledge of syndicated and non-syndicated loans
- Effective communication skills for interacting with front office personnel, accounting teams, offshore service providers, agents, and custodian banks
- Experience working with industry utilities and communication protocols such as Geneva, Wall Street Office, ClearPar, along with comprehension of various agents notices
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Knowledge and understanding of Advent's Geneva Accounting system a huge plus

Base Salary Range
$135,000 - $160,000
In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a
