Job Description
SUMMARY
Ares Management is seeking full time Associates to join our Private Equity team, based in London. The Ares Private Equity Group manages approximately $25 billion in committed capital across five funds.
The associate will work with teams of private equity investment professionals in the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of investments across multiple industries and platforms, including leveraged buyouts, growth equity and structured equity.
We are looking for self-motivated individuals with a strong interest in investing and a desire to gain exposure to a wide variety of industries and transaction structures. An ideal candidate will be completing his/her senior year with a degree in Finance or Economics with an exceptional college record. Individuals comfortable in a fast-paced environment will be best suited for the role.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Critically evaluating value drivers and risks through company and industry due diligence
- Working directly with senior investment professionals on new deals and existing portfolio companies
- Building and updating financial models
- Interacting with company management teams
- Actively monitoring and assessing value creation plans with portfolio companies
- Developing investment theses and preparing investment recommendations
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification
- Bachelor's degree in either Finance or Economics
- Exceptional academic record
Requirements
- Currently an Associatein investment banking or private equity
- Self-motivated with a passion for investing
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Excellent editorial and review skills
- Possesses initiative and entrepreneurial spirit
- Fluency in German and English are essential
