What is the opportunity?
To be part of a team involved in
- the management of risk within a portfolio of global clients that include commercial banks and sovereigns.
- supporting RBC business units to help them fulfil their specific targets and objectives
What
will you do?
- Support the delivery of a full suite of non-trading and trading products offered by RBC business units and subsidiaries
- Build an expertise in RBC policies
- Manage day-to-day issues including excesses, urgent requests (amendments) and reallocations of credit risk limits within a portfolio of internationally based clients
- Work with various business units and team members to develop transaction solutions (including structure, amount and term) supporting business requirements
- Analyze risk and develop an appreciation for the balance between risk and return within the RBC risk appetite
- Perform continuous monitoring of events affecting the risks within the assigned portfolio (including macroeconomic threats and opportunities, counterparty specific events and rating changes risks)
- Contribute to the production of portfolio statistics and management information reports in a timely and accurate manners (ad hoc and regularly scheduled) such as quarterly reporting, country exposure updates, peer reviews, stress testing
- Other projects as assigned that will require analytical, research and problem solving skills
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years work experience in financial services industry
- Strong financial analysis, research and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- Solid understanding of macro-economics and world events
- Experienced in handling non-trading product offerings that support cash management, operations and trade finance is preferred.
- Experienced in handling trading products including derivatives and securities finance.
- Ability to interpret, explain and communicate opinions using verbal and written presentations
- Ability to manage assigned tasks with accompanying attention to detail
- Proactive, self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills to accommodate multi-tasking and dealing with competing time sensitive demands
- Good data management skills including proficiency with MS Office Suite
