The Role

The GQA team is seeking a hands-on quantitative technical Associate Director to focus on the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Apollo's Global Analytics platform. This position will play a critical role in the delivery of first-class analytics solutions to users across Apollo's Credit, Private Equity, and Product groups, offering the right candidate the opportunity to interface with investment professionals while building new and scaling existing capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background developing, scaling, and implementing high-quality, maintainable Java and C# software code as well as excellent communication skills and ideally some exposure in the financial services industry.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop Apollo's real-time analytics library as well as the end-of-day portfolio analytics system.
  • Analyze quantitative library and systems to identify performance inefficiencies and scaling opportunities.
  • Enhance analytics library to incorporate new features and maintain existing feature.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for quantitative analytics library and end of day portfolio analytics.
  • Work directly with business teams across Apollo to understand technical requirements and implement high performance code enhancing analytics infrastructure.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science required
  • At least 10 years of software development experience implementing extensible, maintainable, high-quality code.
  • Experience in quantitative development (or similar) within the financial services/finance industry is a huge plus
  • Language Requirements
    • Expert-level skills in core Java programming with concurrency proficiency
    • Strong C# skills with very good knowledge and experience in multi-threaded programming
    • Excellent hands-on experience in RESTful web services development and microservices architecture and implementation
    • In-depth knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Software Development Requirements
    • Comfortability with TDD and full software development lifecycle required
    • Familiar with design patterns and utilize standard clean code practices
    • Good SQL programming is required with MS SQL Server
  • Library/Tool Requirements
    • Spring boot
    • No code tools such as Talend
    • Numerix
