What is the opportunity?

In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for business market data governance (reference data and pricing), the delivery and ongoing business support of the Enterprise Data Management application for RBC Investor Services (IS), and any future project phases or enhancements. The incumbent will be managing the effective and efficient operation of the Data Service Delivery teams by ensuring that the team delivers high level of standards in terms of accuracy, timeliness, professional responsiveness, and high quality of our services. The incumbent will establish, implement, and maintain appropriate operational frameworks, key controls, streamline procedures while continuously identifying gaps in the design and operating effectiveness controls. It is important to mitigate any risks related to the Data Service Delivery functions, lead initiatives and implement improvements with the objective to enhance client experience.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for business data governance working with Market Data Solutions, IT, vendors, business units and other stakeholder to manage the availability, usability, integrity, accuracy, consistency and security of the data (set up and pricing) into business applications.
  • Operationally lead and provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on Data Service Delivery projects assigned (i.e. EDM project).
  • Define and support the operational framework for the Data Service Delivery team. Establish targets and scorecards to measure service quality and effectiveness against appropriate benchmarks.
  • Assess market, internal and client developments to ensure competitiveness of all services offered.
  • Contribute and make recommendations to the development and implementation of the Data Service Delivery strategy and delivery on projects.
  • Meet all internal and external audit requirements and streamline operations for productivity gains without increasing liability to our clients & RBC IS.
  • Provide support to clients as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Ensure the proper functioning and completeness of all the activities related to Data Service Delivery team.
  • Accountable for procedures validation and ensuring all DOPs are up to date and effectively utilized by staff when required for training.
  • Establish an environment of continuous improvement that assesses workflow, processes and procedures on an ongoing basis, ensuring maximum efficiency and quality within the department.
  • Ensure employees understand our vision, as well as support and reinforce client focused behaviors that contribute to RBC IS goals.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 7+ years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically with market refence data and/or pricing.
  • Market data governance knowledge and experience.
  • Familiar with market reference data and pricing vendors and/or applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in difficult situations, overcome obstacles, solve problems and implement superior solutions.
  • Superior interpersonal and networking skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across jurisdictional, functional and cultural boundaries.
  • Knowledge and application of protocols and standards for delivering exceptional experiences to our clients.
