What is the Opportunity?
This role is responsible for supporting the U.S. Risk Governance and Reporting team with governance protocols for GRM's suite of risk policies (including risk frameworks, policies, standards, procedures and standing orders). The scope will cover both change the bank and run the bank activities related to policy governance, adoption and effectiveness and promoting best practices across RBC Combined U.S. Operations (CUSO) Group Risk Management (GRM).
What will you do?
Supporting the CUSO Risk Policy Review Committee (PRC), which is chaired by the Chief Risk Officer and includes senior GRM leaders as members
Support the design and implementation of policy governance initiatives across CUSO GRM, including the following
Reviewing and challenging CUSO Risk Policy Documents, providing policy owners with feedback to ensure adhere to RBC's Enterprise Policy Management Requirements (GRM-RP5), appropriate approval as per GRM's PMA, and reference/linkage consistency across CUSO Risk
Maintaining GRM's Policy Management Authorities (PMA)
Working with policy teams across the enterprise and CUSO to eliminate duplicate content on PPL and where appropriate, reduce the proliferation of policy documents
Working with policy owners to evaluate the need for any new GRM policies prior to their creation, with the goal to limit the proliferation of policies across GRM
Acting as the PPL administrator for CUSO GRM. Monitor overdue policy documents across CUSO Risk and work with other teams to bring overdue documents up to date escalate deteriorating trends as appropriate ensure GRM policies are tagged with accurate and relevant keywords in PPL
Reviewing requests for exceptions to CUSO risk policies and maintain the list of approved exceptions
Regularly monitor announcements and publications from RBC's primary regulators/supervisors for potential impacts on CUSO risk policies
Promote awareness of RBC's Policy Management Requirements (GRM-RP5) across CUSO and support the implementation of a monitoring program to ensure GRM is in compliance.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key contacts in GRM to share best practices on policy governance
Provide support to initiatives related to CUSO Risk Policy, including regulatory remediation and process improvement projects
Assist with communication and governance strategies, ensuring buy-in from all stakeholders
Champion effective stakeholder engagement as a key tenet of policy development communicate with policy teams, managers and authors to ensure that best practices for stakeholder engagement are followed for review of policy documents prior to their approval
What do you need to succeed?
Strong problem solving, written, oral communication and presentation skills
4+ years of RBC experience with expertise in governance
Self-starter with ability to work independently and in an organized manner
Ability to collaborate effectively and draw out diverse views to achieve greater results
Intellectual curiosity, global and strategic mindset with ability to think conceptually

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $110,000 - $190,000 (NJ) depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status market conditions and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and paid time-off plan.
