The candidate will be part of the Business Management CFO Equities team within the broader Global Business Finance group. He or she will support all activities associated with the analysis, planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting of Equity Funds and the Equity business P&L.
The Associate will focus on the Private Equity business, which anchors the Firm's Equity segment and is considered an industry leading franchise. Primary Responsibilities
- Ownership and management of future cash flow projections and overall outcomes analysis to accurately determine future fund performance
- Own portfolio review process, fund outcomes analysis and portfolio review follow-ups in addition to managing the investment process (e.g., deal team updates, ad hoc analyses, etc.)
- Act as a thought leader to make strategic adjustments to underlying technology needed for outcomes analysis / fund analytics support the development of strategic systems (Equity Data Warehouse, etc.)
- Construct gross to net outcomes, including cases for internal distribution maintain live fund model to better forecast carried interest
- Key driver of forecasting and variance analysis for detailed firm P&L revenue and expense items
- Coordinate with fund controllers on PII/DNI for exact carry calculations, escrow analysis and fund liquidations
- Support strategic initiatives and fundraising with modeling and various ad-hoc requests related to the portfolio
- Partner with other CFO teams, COOs and/or broader firm leadership to drive strategic initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree from a top undergraduate institution
- At least 5+ years of experience in financial services / investment management / accounting with an understanding of Private Equity Funds
- Excellent quantitative analytical and modeling skills with advanced knowledge of Excel, MS Access, Macros, Power Point
- Knowledge of performance measurements (e.g. IRR, TWR, ROE) is desirable.
- Highly organized, keen attention to detail, and able to effectively manage multiple processes simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with various internal and external constituents
- Embraces a culture centered on teamwork and is flexible with job responsibilities
- Strong judgment needed to i) foresee potential risks and roadblocks to task completion and ii) identify effective solutions
- Excels in a rigorous and fast-paced work environment
- Knowledge of Investran and S&P iLevel is desirable
