Position Overview
Apollo is seeking an Associate to join its Corporate Credit investment team within the broader Credit business. The Associate will work as part of a team on all stages of the investment and portfolio monitoring processes across the universe of sub-investment grade funds and strategies, including direct lending, opportunistic credit and performing credit.
Responsibilities for the incumbent Analyst or Associate will include modeling, quantitative financial analysis, industry research and
understanding/monitoring
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide analytical and project support for all investment-related activities, including new deals, secondary and portfolio monitoring
- Diligence potential investment opportunities with exploratory research and perform analytics on potential opportunities
- Be responsible for modelling, quantitative financial analysis, financial and business due diligence, as well as reporting and monitoring individual credit investments
- Play an active role on the deal team in analyzing and synthesizing new investment opportunities, along with providing assistance during legal documentation
- Develop investment committee memoranda and materials with senior team members
- Present investment opportunities in front of senior portfolio managers
- Assist the team with additional ad hoc projects
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree from undergraduate institution with a record of academic achievement
- 2+ years of relevant work experience, including at least one year in investment banking or capital markets experience. M&A, Restructuring, Equity Research and/or Leveraged Finance experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical and technical aptitude and strong interest in credit investing
- Team player with strong work ethic, who excels in a rigorous and fast-paced work environment
- Nimble and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Collaborative and able to effectively communicate within lean investment teams as well as able to work independently
- Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively alongside senior members of the Credit business and across the firm
- High proficiencies in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
